Guinness Beef Stew

I think I can vouch for everyone by saying that if you heard about a dish made out of Guinness, you would absolutely have to try it. This recipe was taken from Jamie Oliver's Steak & Cheese Pie but I have omitted the pie part because it's just plain messy. I mean it's simple enough but if my recipes look too complicated, chances are you won't try it at home. So I say let's forget about the puff pastry and eat the stew with some french loaf. Are you with me?

So here's what you need:

30g butter and 2 beef stock cubes
Ungelleke Nallade 500ml Guinness Can
2 tbs peas and 200g of cheese
3 medium sized onions & 3 cloves of garlic
2 carrots & 2 sticks of celery
Some mushrooms, chopped as shown
1kg cubed beef (for stew) and some rosemary leaves (fresh/dried)

Method:
PREHEAT OVEN TO 190 Degrees Celsius
Using a deep ovenproof dish, heat up some olive oil and fry the onions on low heat. After about 10 minutes, add in the butter, garlic, rosemary (1 sprig), carrots, celery and the mushrooms.
Mix everything together and add in the beef, a pinch of salt and a tbs of black pepper.
Instant beef stock. Just add water and stir.
After 3 mins pour in the entire can of guinness and the beef stock. Add in 1 tbs of plain flour (this is to thicken the stew) and stir. Cover with lid and pop into the over for 90 mins. Remove the stew from oven and stir in the cheese. Ding! Ding! Your stew is done...enjoy with buttered rolls, a fresh green salad and a nice glass of red.
Sorry about the photo, I kind of forgot to take a photo when the stew was served and before I knew it everything was wiped clean. So I just made the coloured photo above black and white!

Try out the stew, it's easy and very very yummy...let me know how it turns out!

Good luck...
